The International Hellenic University opened its doors to the students of the new intakes for the MSc in Management and MSc in Banking & Finance. The induction day took place at the university’s premises in Thermi Thessaloniki on Friday 9 October 2009. During the day students had the chance to tour IHU’s premises, receive their programme schedule, and meet the other students as well as the academic faculty and administration staff.
The Chairman of IHU, Prof. Kostas Grammenos, welcomed the new students on behalf of the Governing Board. Presenting the university’s growth over the last two years, Professor Grammenos illustrated how new structures had been developed in this short period of time, including new academic programmes, computer labs, library, data bases, support services, etc., which could be compared to those in educational institutions abroad. Professor Grammenos encouraged the new students to take full advantage of the possibilities that the university offers, so that they can succeed in their studies and in their professional life later on.
The Dean of the School of Economics and Administration, Professor Mario Levis, presented the programme in detail together with the student handbook. He also gave a general introduction about the way the university operates and stressed the fact that “The university is built around the student, with the sole purpose of providing high class academic expertise in order that our alumni secure entry into the international job market, especially during this period which is characterized by a high degree of uncertainty and insecurity due to the international economic crisis.”
