Aims

This course examines general environmental (sustainability) accounting issues. The main goal of this module is to stimulate students to become knowledgeable of the social and environmental topics which are affected by accounting, hence giving them the opportunity to acquire a more comprehensive information and understanding of the accounting field. It is also expected that students will be better equipped for the broader spectrum of accountancy in practice. Students will be asked to critically evaluate key research topics as well as theoretical and empirical findings drawn from sustainability and social accounting literature. Therefore, students will be able to develop significantly their analytical skills while at the same time they will be able to develop their understanding and of current topics on the area.
