Business and the Environment Print

This course aims to develop students’ understanding of the relationship between businesses’ operation with the physical environment and the society. Student will explore the growing environmental and social challenges that firms are facing and develop the skills necessary to recognize and exploit the opportunities that arise from these in gaining competitive advantage. Analytically, students will learn how to design and implement business policies in situations where they have not only to adapt to existing stakeholder demands, but also to make long-term investments in the face of regulatory uncertainty concerning environmental and societal issues. Furthermore, students will learn to respond to the growing demand for increased transparency and accountability from different various groups including consumers, downstream buyers, investors, and environmental organizations.
